Lab Manager GeoDesign’s Portland office is seeking a full-time laboratory manager for our in house soils lab. Minimum 5 years experience with soils testing for geotechnical engineering design required. Experience with ASTM and AASHTO testing procedures, knowledge of basic geotechnical principles, and word processing/spreadsheet skills also required. Associates or Bachelors degree a plus. Position includes full benefits w/negotiable salary depending on experience. Position may also include managing construction observation services depending on experience of successful applicant. The integration of these services is a trusted resource for our clients.
Our team of engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, and technicians provides a full range of services including site investigation, foundation design, landslide investigation, earth dam design, seismic engineering, soil stabilization, bridge foundations, water and waste water treatment plans, pipelines, and other geotechnical engineering services. We have specialized in-house laboratory and in-situ testing capabilities including cyclic tri-axial testing apparatus and SASW testing apparatus. We also maintain a full instrumentation system program to monitor landslides.
Our team of geologists, engineering geologists, and engineers provide geological consulting services for projects ranging from roadway slope instability to large-scale, deep-seated landslides throughout the Pacific Northwest. In addition, we assist the development of regional hazard mitigation planning with local and state agencies that encompass the full range of geologic hazards.
Our team of engineers blends theory with experience to provide innovative and practical pavement solutions for initial design and construction, maintenance and rehabilitation, and reconstruction. GeoDesign provides pavement design services for roadways, airfields, bridges, and parking lots. We use our in-house Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) for non-destructive deflection testing to assess pavement strength and longevity. The FWD is used to determine the integrity of existing pavement systems and to select the appropriate pavement rehabilitation methods. We offer resilient modulus testing on base, subbase, and subgrade materials for pavement design procedures.
Our team of geologists provides a full range of environmental services including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments hazardous materials surveys, subsurface investigations, Remedial Investigations and Feasibility Studies, sediment sampling, remediation system design and implementation, and landfill studies. We have developed expertise in landfill reclamation projects including mitigation of hazardous material including methane. We have also developed capabilities in sediment sampling to characterize under water pollution issues.
Our team of hydrogeologists manages projects and provide support to an array of geotechnical and environmental projects that involve groundwater and surface water. Our understanding of the fundamental principals of surface and groundwater hydrology is combined with our application of state-of-the-art methods for characterization of hydrogeologic systems, contaminant fate and transport and risk assessments, groundwater control applied to construction projects or landslide mitigation, and water resource development and protection.
